Wall of Life
This was so much more than a photography class. It was ran as a community project, with the priority of self-growth being the focal point.
We learned how to take photos and develop them ourselves with different chemicals. We also learned a lot about ourselves, and important life lessons.
A year ago, I wouldn't have noticed the ambience of this photo. Through my college career and experience, I've come to realize that the world is so much bigger through a camera lens.

"Putting the five 'W's and an 'H' in a Caption"
Captions are critical and necessary for every photo. If there isn't a caption for a photo, there isn't any information about the photo, its just a picture. Captions bring the viewer or reader into the what, who, when, where, why and how of a photo. If the "why" is left out of the caption, the journalist runs the risk of producing an incomplete story. If the "what" is denied, and the photo isn't obviously explained by just viewing, the cutline of the story is going to have to fill in the information. Clearly if the "who, when and where" is disregarded the photo won't have much significance.

About Me...
Fellow Bloggers...
My name is Chris Washington, and I'm a junior at Wayne State University, majoring in Media Arts. I'm enrolled in a photojournalism class, and we're required to create a blog.
I was born and raised on the west side of Detroit, MI. At the early age of 12, I recognized that I fell in love with most types of photography. Now, at the age of 27, I'm on the verge of creating my own photography brand. I'm looking forward to translating words from pictures.
